So...the final result is...

I managed a total of 64 poems, besting last year's total by two. On the last day, I wrote four poems. I think that a good chunk of these are worthy poems. It actually felt pretty weird to NOT write today, but in a way, it was relieving. I put a lot of effort into it and can be a little mentally distant during April. I feel like I need to make up for that in May. Anyway, I think I pushed myself in some areas and even ended up with another concept for a chapbook. In fact, 12 of the 64 poems will be part of that...the whole ghost thing. I don't know how it's going to end yet, as I'm letting it sort itself out as it goes and trying not to force anything. I'm hoping for the best there, but it's a little different for me and I'm trying not to fall into cliches, which can be easy when dealing with something like this. Now, it's all about revision...lots of revision.

  1. 64 poems is impressive (well, jaw-dropping, really!)! Way to go! NaPo was a stretch for me this year but now that it's over, I am feeling ... very satisfied and a tiny bit smug!
